About

I began practising yoga almost 20 years ago whilst at university and over this time I have worked with many different teachers and styles of yoga.  I qualified as a yoga teacher in 2009 having completed two years of training with The Devon School of Yoga and went on to study a Post Graduate  Course in Yoga Teaching and Yoga Therapy and a Diploma in Holistic and Clinical Aromatherapy.  I have also completed a number of other training courses most notably with Yoga Sport Science in the application of yoga techniques to sports performance and training and pregnancy yoga with Birthlight (not converted to full diploma due to work pressures and having my own baby!).  I owned my own yoga studio an in Marlborough, The Old Barn Yoga Centre, for six years from 2008 to 2014 and I have taught in a range of other settings including retreat centres (Champneys and Saltspring Centre of Yoga in B.C., Canada) and Schools (St John’s Marlborough, St Mary’s Calne and on the Exsportise programme).  I have a personal Ashtanga Yoga practice and enjoy teaching this style of yoga as well as my general yoga classes.

Aside from yoga, I have a Masters Degree in Engineering from Durham University and I am a Chartered Accountant.  Before starting a family I worked as the Finance Director of Dorothy House Hospice Care where I continue to work as a consultant.  I played hockey for 25 years, have run several marathons (and even a couple of ultras) and enjoy cycling and swimming.
